How much does it cost to replace carpet with wood floors?

I live in a townhouse (3 bedrooms). Currently i only have wood floors on the 1st level, however I’d like to replace the carpet on the 2nd level and basement with wood floors. WITHOUT the cost of the wood flooring, how much will it cost to hire someone to replace the carpet with the wood flooring?

Help baby learn to crawl in hardwood flooring?

We are closing in a new home soon but for the time being we are stuck with hardwoods. My son is SO ready to be mobile but he can’t get his knees under himself while up on his arms without some grip. Buying an area rug isn’t an option right now because money is incredibly tight. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Why does using vinegar on linoleum floors make them squeak?

I cleaned my linoleum floor with water and vinegar and now they squeak when walking on them. Not the floor, the actual linoleum squeaks. I recleaned with warm water — they still squeak. I lightly waxed the floor — they still squeak. Do you have any suggestions?

is laminate flooring good to put on top of floor heating?

we put in water floor heating in concrete and i was told laminate flooring did not let the heat get through, are there different types of laminate? what should i be looking for ar ask?

I have pine flooring in my living room/dining area that is badly worn. I have 3 dogs as well. Because of my Mom’s problems with asthma, carpet is out of the question. What would be the best solution to replacing/repairing the floor – sheet vinyl, vinyl tiles or laminate flooring? As most folks these days, I am trying to keep the cost down.

I am currently building a 12×10 bar in my back yard I has a roof over it and I picked up some prefinished bamboo hardwood flooring at a yard sale for the bar top for 50 bucks it’s more than I need but my question is how well will it hold up outside should I coat it with something more?

I have been using glo hardwood cleaner and it has made my floors really greasy and streaky. How do I get rid of that and what should I use instead of that? I got the steam shark which helps a little. I have also tried using water, vinegar and dish soap and I have also tried adding olive oil to that also. It still has the streaks and greasy look. Any other ideas?? Please help!

I have just purchased a house. I was goin to start on putting a kitchen in. But as we painted the living room we then began pulling up carpet. It came up nicely. But the padding was a nightmare. I was able to get the bulk up but it left a nasty sticky padding composition on my hard wood floors. We began scaping it down gently with a metal scraper. I guess I’m going to have to use some elbow grease and scape the bulk off and then sand the flooring down then stain and finish. If any one has encountered this problem and knows how to remove this sticky padding please help me. Or if the If the only way is to scape it like I’m doing please let me know either way. I don’t have a ton of money to spend and I’m scheptical on using chemicals on the wood floors. But I also heard murphies oil will help to loosen the sticky padding from the floor? Any info is greatly appreciated!!
