Just started a flooring business-what can i be doing to promote our business?
My husband and i just opened a flooring business (sales & installation)-neither of us have been to college-there are days where noone comes in and i just feel like i could be doing SOMETHING to get people in the door. we are doing some advertising in phonebook and once in newspaper but its sooo expensive we cant afford to advertise-so any suggestions (advice) would be great.

You should consider using large format banners. They are a one-time cost, but you can continually use them. One thing that you can do is to join live events. It is a fun way to meet different kind of people and let them know about your business. You can also distribute your business cards there.

Get a website and get it optimized well to help it show up high on the search engines. Google ad words and craigslist are also pretty good places to advertise.
